16. SIBERIAN HUSKY
- This breed is known for it's non-aggressive temperament and friendliness.  Even though Siberian Husky's are very alert dogs they do not make good watchdogs as they are not protective in nature.  Most of the time they are high-energy dogs that are of a happy-go-lucky nature.  They love to play making them a great family dog, especially ones with children.

Siberian Husky's love to chew and dig whatever they can so obedience training is a must.  Huskies are more pack oriented than most other breeds.  A need to please is in their nature and Huskies feel bad if they do not get their owners approval.

17. COCKER SPANIEL - Cocker Spaniels are very active, high-energy dogs.  They can be very curious and mischievous and love to chew anything they can.  Cockers are very alert but easily distracted dogs.  They are very huggable, sweet, loving puppies.

Due to their excitable nature they can be excessive wetters, which will make housetraining difficult.  They learn commands such as 'heel' and 'come' the best as these commands keep them moving.

18. DOBERMAN PINSCHER - Although the Doberman Pinscher has the reputation of being aggressive or antisocial, with proper socialization and training they can actually be very affectionate, loyal, and obedient dogs.  They are very alert, respond well to commands, and have high-energy.  They also have a high willingness to please their owners.

They love to run and jump.  If your Doberman is to be kept outdoors then you'll want to make sure you have a high fence, 6 feet at a minimum.  Training is fairly easy because they learn quickly and are responsive.  However, training and socialization should be started right away to make them friendly pets.

19. BASSET HOUND - Basset Hounds have long floppy ears, barrel shaped bodies and short legs but can run much faster then would be expected.  They are deliberate, highly focused and slow moving when tracking a scent.  Most are very pleasant dogs but some can be sensitive while others can be stubborn.  They have a playful behavior and mild-mannered, good-natured demeanor.

Bassets mature later then most breeds so training will take patience.  The most troublesome characteristics are digging and chewing.  This is a breed that likes to howl and bark, particularly if there are nearby sirens or something to sing along with.

20. POODLE - Poodles are generally sweet, playful, high-energy, responsive dogs but may vary depending on the variety of breed.  Toy Poodles are jumpy and excitable and typically high strung.  Miniature Poodles are energetic and spirited but not quite as high strung as their Toy counterpart.  Standard Poodles are eager to please, easy to train and very bright dogs.  All three have human like characteristics and a keen intelligence.

Standard and Miniature Poodles are easy to train not to chew, jump up, nip, and steal food.  The Toy Poodle can be difficult to housetrain as is typical of the toy breeds.  The Poodle is a great breed to teach tricks to as they excel in obedience training.
